Lecture "Black and white world" in PhD Café

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, our doctoral student Lada Jovović gave a short lecture entitled "Black and white world: the mechanism of albinism in the cave isopods". On this occasion, Lada briefly presented the current knowledge on the topic of the evolution of albinism in cave ecosystems and presented the hypotheses of her doctoral work as well as preliminary results.

The lecture was held as part of the monthly event called PhD Café, taking place in the cozy coffee shop Booksa. PhD Café is an activity intended for the promotion of young Croatian scientists (doctoral students) financed by the Croatian Science Foundation project "Young Researchers’ Career Development Project". At these events, doctoral students present their doctoral research and previous results in a somewhat less formal atmosphere. So far, 21 PhD Cafés have been held, and apart from Zagreb, they are also held in the university towns of Rijeka, Split and Osijek.
